Halloween

This year was low key Halloween. He had fun dressing up. Briggs was Harry potter. I surprised him last minute and it made him happy. Nyla was a fairy. Super cute. Benson was spiderman. Hannah was a lady bug. They were so cute. We went booing for fhe one night. We tried to pick people we thought could use a pick me il. My kids understood not everything is for there friends. We had a great time. We craved pumpkins, and went to school Halloween party and the trunk or treating. To top the night off, they went trick or treating. Live are tippy, and older neighbors that like my kids. Just wish there wasn't so much candy.

All you need is...CORN

Last week we went with a bunch of our friends and their families to the corn maze.  We LOVED getting lost, and enjoyed trying to find our way out.  We were a massive pack all following each other at first, until a few broke away and found the exit. It made me think about how many times we just go the same way as others, only doing the neccesities. It is crazy. It isn't until we break away from the pack that we are able to stand for something and find the right way.  Lessons learnt in the corn maze.

And all that corn

Last night we went to a corn maze with about 5 families for FHE. It was a lot of fun! We got totally lost and there was corn all around us. My kids loved it and talked about it all the way home and this morning. I am pretty sure this was the last official nice night before the weather turns cold

Jumping beans

Last night night we went down to the river bottom. They have a dirt bike jump trail that my kids love going to. They rode their little hearts out, and came home sweaty dirty, and happy. Exercise does something for the soul. I love it. We went with a great family. It was nice to know that in my journey with benson, (that even though benson's challenges are different) I have someone else experiencing it beside. I think Heavenly Father has started to show me that I am not alone in this. And oh how I need that.
Last night was the relief society broadcast.I did not attend but I was able to read the talks last night. So good. So wonderful o know that I have the talks to read that night. What wonderful messages, but pres. Uchdorft talk about the forget me not flower will stay with me for a while.

Mental health day

Yesterday we had a mental health day from church. We went to the mountains, and had a picnic, threw rocks in the lake, and enjoyed being together. We read scriptures on the way there, and I think my kids actually were paying attention. We went on a hike and probably got about 1km in when Briggs said he didn't feel right about being here and that we need to go back to the lake. We listened to him, and once we got back, he said that he felt much better. We told that he was listening to the holy ghost, and that when he gets these feelings he needs to act upon them. We also told that it took courage, and that he was being a great leader. Once we got back to the lake, our beautiful day took a different course. The cLoads rolled in and it started to rain.
So glad that Heavenly Father heard our prayers to keep us safe, and allowed Briggs the chance to lead our family and answer our prayers. Best mental health day ever!

My Nyla

My Nyla is so great. I sometimes don't give her the credit she deserves. She is my goto girl. She is my helper. She loves her sister, and her brothers. I love that she is developing her testimony. I love that she sings her little heart out, and picks her nose, and toes during the pri art presentation. She plays Church in her room. Her wish for Chirstmas was that Jesus would come. But I love her tender heart. She gets it. And wants to comfort those around her. Today she missed school because she had a primary party. She earned it she said her prayers both morning and night. They went to play at the park. They got hats, and one of the little girls didn't want her hat and cried about it. Nyla being so sweet gave the girl hers. It just melted my heart when her teacher told me this story. Nyla I love you!

Music man

So it has begun! Briggs started violin lessons today! He was so excited. He picked the instrument. I love being able to give my child the gift of music. I hope he practices! I am excited to see were his hard work will take him! Not so excited for all the practicing! Maybe I should get some ear plugs for a bit.

Taxi Driver

I am officially a taxi driver!! Here is a snippet of my day. Monday Nyla dance at 10:00am rush home do lunch and then rush out the door for Nyla's school ay 12:13pm and then over to Benson's school for 12:30pm. Come home and put Hannah down for a nap. I do some cleaning and prep for the evening rush.  Wake Hannah up at 3:00 to go get Benson at 3:15 and Briggs and Nyla come home at 3:45pm.  It is a crazy life.  I was always under the notion that my life would slow down once my kids were in school. Older moms would always laugh at me, and now I know why.  It has only just begun!

Melt my heart moment.  My kids started gymnastics yesterday.  They love it.  Benson was able to go, and it was a parent tot class.  I loved watching him.  He listened so well to instructions, and participated very well.  There are only 2 kids in his class, and the other one is a boy that goes to church with us.  It is nice that he will be able to develop a friendship there.  I love him, and often I find the Mama Bear in me coming out.  I just want him as I want all of my kids to be the best that they can be! I would do anything for them!!

All the bells and whistles!!

Sometimes it's okay to stay home and work. My good husband often says this. I would rather enjoy a great experience with my kids. Saturday we did both. We did some house and yard got everything in ship shape and then went on a picnic in the river bottom. So nice to see tones of people out. We ate and then took off on a bike ride to the bike jumps. My kids had a great time. All 3 of them where dare devils. Until Nyla crashed. We had a great time. Thanks courts for coming. So glad we got our work done!

Back 2 school

My babies went back to school today. Briggs went to grade 2 mrs. Snidles class and Nyla kindergarten. Mrs. Christies class. Both of them were super excited to go. Both wore there new clothes had waffles for breakfast. I loved taking them to school and walking hand in hand to there classroom. Weeks have been spent in anticipation for this day. Schools supplies packed and repacked in their backpacks a thousand times, clothes tried on a whole bunch of times. Our back to school time capsule done on Monday for FHE and father's blessings last night. Briggs was promised if he would work hard he would do well in school and he would be friends with those that needed friends and an example to them. He sat pretty reverent for his but was great for everyone elses. Nyla was told that she would bring peace and a great helper to her teacher at school and that she would remember the things that she would learn. She also would expand her circle of friends. She sat with her arms folded and eyes closed the whole prayer. Benson really impressed me. I think he sensed that this would be really important for him. He crawled up on to the chair and folded his arms and closed his eyes for a lot of the prayer. It really melted my heart. He was promised that he would make significant gains in his speech and that he would make some new friends. He was also promised that his Helpers would know how to work with him, and that we would be able to find out what really was going on with his lack of speech. I am so proud Of my kids. I love them tones. And while I will miss them I know that this is where they need to be.

Sunday maddness

Every Sunday I get 4 kids plus myself ready for church. Most Sunday's it is me rushing around gathering everyone. Most of the time I make it to church barely before it starts. And then I wrestle them trying to teach reverence. Some days we make it, some days not so much! The irony of it all is I can get the kids ready for school and other things that start a lot earlier. Maybe they will learn that church is just as important as the park or swimming!
